Avril news sure to terrify

For those of you who love to hate Avril Lavigne, here’s some more grist for the mill:

They’re making a amovie out of Sk8ter Boi. They’re using the lyrics from the song to construct a movie. No word on if Avril would star in the movie, but she’ll provide a song for the soundtrack, I’d imagine. Although, isn’t that like playing a song with the lyrics “we’re going to win it in the end” during the climactic basketball scene in TEEN WOLF? Doesn’t it give the whole story away?

They are re-releasing “Let Go” with special VCD material, including the music videos and live performances.

Also, the next Lavigne album is set to be — get this — a live album, compiled from concerts from the past year of promotions. It’s due out September 9th.

Now, spew forth with your venom. You have your raw material here. ;-)

Well if you didn’t know that Michael J. Fox’s team was going to win at the end of Teen Wolf you are seriously stupid.

But maybe the makers of TEEN WOLF were out to create the new genre of Depressing Teen Movies, with TW at the head. Someone has to dare to dream, right? ;-)

Has anyone else wondered at the quality disparity between Teen Wolf and Loeb’s comic writing (Loeb did write TW, right?)

Yup, Jeph Loeb wrote TEEN WOLF.

Do you think TEEN WOLF stunk and his comics work is great, or vice versa?

If it’s the former, then I’d just blame it either on (A) youth and relative inexperience or (B) movie-rewriting-by-committee in Hollywood.

Eek. I’m going to let you guys keep arguing about Teen Wolf. I, on the other hand, am just staring at my monitor in befuddlement, wondering if I actually read that correctly.

    A movie.

    Out of Sk8ter Boi.

Don’t get me wrong, I love love love Avril’s music. I love the CD.

(She, on her own, is another matter).

    But a MOVIE?!?!?!?!!?

I just don’t understand lots of things.

Music Pet Peeve #161: Artists releasing a live album when they barely have enough studio material to base it off of. Come on, one album!? One friggin’ album! Man, a real artist like John Mayer would never do that! It’s so cheap! …What? Oh…
