More on “It”

On the bright side, Ashton Kutcher will have to be “overexposed” at some point in his career. At the current rate, it’ll be sooner rather than later. I don’t know where this article is from, but I do believe it’s legit:

“It looks as if the old General Lee will be getting a tuneup. The script for Warner Bros. Pictures’ big-screen version of “The Dukes of Hazzard” is still being wrestled into shape. But that’s not stopping Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker from expressing their interest in starring as the fast-drivin’ cousins, with Anthony Anderson as Boss Hog, in the remake of the good-ol’-boys TV series that ran on CBS from 1979-85. Kutcher is so into the role that he even dressed up as Luke Duke last year on Halloween. And what about Daisy Duke? Rumors are already buzzing that Britney Spears, who worked with Kutcher on an episode of MTV’s “Punk’d,” is one possibility.”

Ugh DUKES OF HAZZARD was my favoritest show in the whole wide world when I was 5 years old. When I saw it again on cable a few years back, it held absolutely no interest for me. Not even Daisy Duke.

Besides, shouldn’t Boss Hog be played by Michael Clarke Duncan? DOH was so white… ;-)

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and actually DEFEND Ashton Kutcher. Do I think he’s overexposed? Yes. Does the Demi Moore thing give me the willies? Yes. But…I’ve enjoyed him on That 70′s Show for a while now and while I can’t understand why he’s getting so MUCH attentions, I do believe he’s got talent and comic timing to boot. Let’s seperate the hype from the performer. Remember when it wasn’t cool to say you liked Leonardo DiCaprio during the Titanic days? Yeah, I didn’t think he was dreamy like all the teenage girls, but I did like the guy in the stuff I’d seen, both in Titanic and before it came out. I was laughed at, but I owned up to it. I now own up to liking Ashton Kutcher. But he still shouldn’t be Batman. Or Superman.

there’s a phrase in Spanish for overexposure – particularly applicable for celebrities: “Estan hasta en la sopa.” They’re even in the soup! :)

    Broc –>

    I liked TITANIC. I don’t have a problem with that one. ;-)

I saw it TWICE in the theaters, for goodness’ sake.

Ah, I love those quaint Spanish sayings… There’s a lot of good ones to be mined there.

    Hi Augie,

While I’m not a fan of Ashton Kutcher’s, I have to admit I don’t think his casting would absolutly suck. I’ve always thought of the Duke boys as semi simpletons, and Ashton doesn’t come off as the brightest boy. Seems like simple casting to me.

:) I used to know alot more of them, until I got, well…older and started to lose memory capacity. ;) But I still know enough of them to be annoying. I also start to spout them when I’m around my famiily for more than a few hours and start speaking in rapid-fire Spanish. ;) I may have to brush up for New York, just to confuse everyone. ;)
