DVDs for April

Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights for the busy busy month of April:

Next week includes FREAKS AND GEEKS, THE PINK PANTHER boxed set, THE POLICE ACADEMY boxed set, and MATRIX REVOLUTIONS.

The week after includes the final season of BABYLON 5, and KILL BILL.

April 20th brings MASTER AND COMMANDER, the second season of THE OFFICE, and the unrated version of WILD THINGS along with its sequel.

Finally, April 27th gives to us BIG FISH, LOVE ACTUALLY, a POPEYE cartoon collection, and TIMELINE.

Whew. I need to play the lottery now.

There’s no way I’m buying Kill Bill yet. You just know there’ll be a super-duper edition once vol. 2 is on DVD as well.

Hey Nick –> You’re right. In fact, I think Tarantino has already spoken about that possibility. I’ll have to see if I can dig up the quote again.

A quick DigitalBits.com search turned up only this:

“Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill, Volume 1 will street on 4/13 (SRP $29.99). The disc will include anamorphic widescreen video (2.35:1), both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio, a Behind the Scenes with Quentin Tarantino documentary and additional extras TBA. Interestingly, this DVD release is just 3 days prior to the scheduled release of Kill Bill, Volume 2 into theaters. Our initial information is that this is NOT a special edition release, so it’s possible that a more elaborate edition of both films is planned for a later date.”

    Buyer beware, indeed.
