Donkey Konga 2
Look what came out this week when I wasn’t looking:
Gamestop.com - Donkey Konga 2 with DK Bongos
Featuring a fresh choice of new music tracks, this is the second edition of Nintendo’s rhythm and beat game starring characters from the Donkey Kong series of videogames. The game is controlled via the included conga controller and has up to four players hitting the two drums and clapping their hands to the rhythm of the beat.
I’ve spotted a couple of reviews, which say all the same bad things they said about the first one: Songs not by the original singers, bad choice of songs, blah blah blah. I enjoyed the first game despite all of that. The second one is more of the same, just with different songs. That’s all I ask for. I’m in.

Thanks, Adam. The editorial that runs with it is brilliant, as well. He hits it right on the head — it’s not about the music. It’s abot the playability. There’s a lot of songs on the new game that annoy the crap out of me from a musical perspective, but that kick butt on a gameplay level. That said, I do still find myself leaning towards the songs I like more often than not.
Still, you wouldn’t think “Losing My Religion” would be tough on Gorilla mode, but it can be.
Full game review coming within the week, I think. There’s a lot more I need to play with in the game.
