May 24
Really, just listen to the podcast. It’s so much more entertaining, even if it takes longer. ;-)
blah blah blah full release list blah blah blah
Airwolf: Season One
Yes, everything is coming to DVD.
The Aviator (widscreen) (2-disc set) (2004)
It’s the movie pick of the week. Love this one.
Batman: The Animated Series: Vol. 3 (4-disc set)
Simply put, it’s one of the greatest animated series of my lifetime.
Chappelle’s Show: Season Two Uncensored
I still have to watch Season One. I’ve seen bits of it and laughed, but right now Chappelle’s whole attitude towards the show dampens my enthusiasm to watch any more of it.
The Cosby Show: Season One (4-disc set)
Ah, to relive my childhood. . .
The Day After Tomorrow: Collector’s Edition (2-disc set) (2004)
I Robot: Collector’s Edition (2-disc set) (2004)
Man on Fire: Collector’s Edition (2-disc set) (2004)
See ‘em again, for the third time.
Fat Actress: Season One (2-disc set) (2005)
NOOOOOO!
The Job: The Complete Series (4-disc set)
If each day had about 30 hours, I’d be all over this set.
NewsRadio: Seasons 1-2 (3-disc set) (1995)
The comments thread is open. You may celebrate this release below. I’d only need 28 hours in a day to buy this one.
Pooh’s Heffalump Movie (2005)
Awwww… How cute. And it’s a Disney movie that’s not CGI. Enjoy those while they last.
Samurai Jack: Season Two
Great show, all too easily overlooked.
Superfriends: Season Two
I enjoyed this show when I was 6. Pushing 30 now, I can’t even get into it for the nostalgia.
Next week: MOONLIGHTING finally pops up with the first two seasons in one healthy boxed set, including all the original music. What, you want more? OK, DANGER MOUSE is also released.

Augie, just to hear Charlie Murphy tell one of his stories is reason enough to watch Chapelle.
May 24, 2005 @ 11:36:41
I have the Chapelle “Charlie Murphy Stories” episode saved for good on my TiVo. That is just classic stuff…
I’ve got Batman TAS #3 pre-ordred, but I didn’t know News Radio was out today! I also have the “Smoking” episode on TiVo whenever I need it. That may be the funniest 30 minutes of TV I’ve ever seen. I’d be more inclined to get it if I didn’t just borrow FIREFLY. Still, that’s KEY TV! :)

DANGER MOUSE?!?!?!?! DANGER MOUSE?!?!?! WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
::embarassed::

And I thought *I* was an Anglophile… I think you just beat me, Patricia.
May 24, 2005 @ 14:39:36
I don’t think Chappelle’s attitude towards the show is a bad thing at all, Augie. He’s the one trying to put out the best product he can while the execs are on his back giving him deadlines to put something out. The guy was on tour all last year up until recently I believe. With all the newfound fame, touring, and deadlines, reports are saying the guy is totally stressed out. Season 2 is just a filler til season 3 gets finished. And 2 is waaaaaaaaay funnier than 1..and that’s saying a whole lot.

Chappelle asked for, and received, at least two extensions for the third season. He signed a contract for $50,000,000 and failed to deliver, despite an extra three months given to him. That’s hardly the execs getting on his back. Perhaps after signing a contract worth $50 mill, he should have reprioritized his schedule.
He’s choking. That’s all this is. If he didn’t have two more seasons’ worth of material in him, he should never have signed the contract.
If my boss gives me a contract to redesign a website I did for him previously, I’m expected to do the work by the date I contracted out for. I might be granted extensions, but if I were to say, “I’m sorry, but I can’t make the website any better, so I can’t do it,” my boss would can my sorry ass and rip up my contract.
Chappelle’s a choker.

I *heart* DangerMouse. Huge childhood memories, watching it in the UK with my brother, sometimes finding it here in the states. And yeah, so I’m an Anglophile. :P To a rather alarming extent. Not like we went there for our honeymoon or anything. ::eye rolls::

I’m waiting for The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., myself.
May 24, 2005 @ 20:37:36
Ah. I see. I was never aware of the extensions Chappelle asked for. Good point with the real life situation though. I still don’t think you should give up on watching the show because he’s not living up to current expectations. It’s still a very funny and smart show. And by the time you’re done with Season 1 and Season 2, maybe he’ll be back on schedule =).

Dave Chappelle — overrated and really ought to be raked over the coals for the B.S. he’s pulling on Comedy Central.
There. I said what a million other people are thinking. This is one of the few times I’ll stick up for a corporation, but Chappelle DID sign a contract. I personally think he’s overrated and NOT worth $50 million, but he’s got to uphold the piece of paper he signed.
Batman: The Animated Series — Volume 3 really ISN’T the end of the series. That’s a bad case of advertising. There’s one more volume left of the episodes created for the 1997-1999 series.
Any one of these 4 volumes are better than “The Batman” crap airing on Kids WB and Cartoon Network. “The Batman” is a blatant 22-minute weekly commercial for poorly designed action figures and vehicles. Batman: The Animated Series is EVERYTHING “The Batman” is not — a modern reinterpretation of Batman that doesn’t coddle to kids, evokes classic comic books and animation, and at the same time is the closest to a perfect Batman anybody could imagine.
It’s a shame they’re not doing more with the perfect version of Batman other than JLU appearances. It’s too bad a bunch of kids are growing up thinking “The Batman” is what Batman is all about. “The Batman” is the conjuring of WB execs and their toadies who’ve never read a comic book in their life…

Ugh. I hate the new Batman on Kids WB right now. Actually, I just hate that animation style period. It can be cool at times but it looks so….cheap, I guess is the word that comes to my mind. Animation aside, I sat down to a few episodes of the new Batman because I wanted ot give it a chance. Not so good. Maybe it’s because I’m comparing it to Batman:TAS? Who knows.

Definitely getting DM next week. This week I’ve preordered Samurai Jack, Batman Vol. 3, and Superfriends (the last more as an afterthought). I’m planning on getting the I, Robot collector’s edition in the near future.
