Link Dump
Various and sundry links, mostly to remind myself to read them more fully later, or to store for future reference:
* HTML tips: Making the Jump to tableless design. I’m working with CSS at work right now, and found this article (presented as a Power Point presentation) fascinating. The orderly and logical part of my mind enjoyed it.
* Web design: Principles of web design. This goes a little further than I need to deal with right now, but anyone interested in graphic design, in general, might find some interesting stuff in here.
* 50 tools to help your writing. There’s some repetition here from all the other similar tutorials I’ve seen through the years, but there’s also a lot of interesting new stuff. Nevertheless, it’s all too much to read in one sitting. Must investigate further.
* 20 Things About PhotoShop You Have To Know. I’ve played more in Illustrator, but many of those tools are the same. I still have a lot to learn.
* Mac-on-Mac is some sort of project to allow previous Mac OSes and Linux to run in parallel with OS X. I think. I only link to it here because their logo of a penguin hugging an apple is so gosh darn cute.
* WordPress Administration - For those of us using WordPress as our blog software, this looks like it could make our administration duties feel a little more comfortable. The author redesigned all the admin pages to give them a more Mac OS X feel. Screenshots at the link. It beats the clunky design we have now. It’s a simple plugin to install.
* The Family Guy has a blog, too. It’s the show so wrong that you have to laugh. Annika Sorenstam’s “appearance” in this week’s episode had to be paused until the laughter subsided.
* Coming soon: A new Various and Sundry podcast.

Installed, activated and then deactivated the WordPress pugin. Looks nice, but it’s not quite there yet. Some weird floating images on top of the interface, fields not quite dropping where they should and difficult to mouseover links. A shame, because it’s mostly there. I’ll try it again in a few versions.

That Annika scene was hysterical! Although Stewie touching Cleveland’s hair was so wrong I had to rewind to make sure I saw what I thought I saw…
