Used book sales don’t hurt new book sales. The existence of used book sales helps increase value of new books. And their audiences are mostly distinct. Interesting and almost counter-intuitive arguments — they’re my favorite kind.

Not sure if this made the national papers or not, but the San Jose Mercury News ran an article this week showing the differences between Google Maps and Microsoft Earth.
Take a look at the intersection of 280 & N. DeAnza Blvd. On Google Maps in the lower right hand corner is a round set of buildings – this is the HQ of Apple Computer. Now take a look at Microsoft Earth version – not a thing. A vacant lot and a warehouse looking building.
How low! And you wonder why everyone hates Microsoft.
