Full list of the week’s DVD releases at DVDJournal.com.
2005 Tour De France (6-disc set)
Grown men wearing spandex and pedalling for six DVDs? Uhm, no thanks.
Arrested Development: Season Two (3-disc set)
Get it while it lasts.
Hondo: Collector’s Edition (1953)
If it were the 3-D version, I’d consider it. It does have a Leonard Maltin commentary track on it, though.
Kingdom of Heaven (widescreen) (2-disc set) (2005)
From the reviews of the movie I’ve read, you’re better off going back to watching your DVD of GLADIATOR, instead.
Me and You and Everyone We Know (2005)
Ebert loves the movie, but every clip of it I’ve ever seen looks tremendously boring. Yes, this is a completely unfair review, but I’m not trying to be an expert here. I can only watch so much, and care about even less. ;-)
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005)
How did I miss this when I was putting together the podcast this week? That’s just a title ripe for the riffing. . . Oddly enough, it got decent reviews for what it is.
South Park: Season Six (3-disc set)
It’s the animated series that just wouldn’t die.
Veronica Mars: Season One (6-disc set)
I’m hoping to watch it over Christmas break this year. But we’ll see how those plans go.
Next week is even more colorful, including Batman movie re-releases, THE CARE BEARS movie, WORLD POKER TOUR Season 3, MAD HOT BALLROOM, and more.

SISTERHOOD

Okay, obviously my computer felt like misbehaving.
Ahem.
SISTERHOOD is a great little movie - yes, it’s adapted from a YA book, but it’s quite well acted, doesn’t spare you on emotion, and isn’t even remotely over the top or schmaltzy. I will definitely be purchasing that one.
Very much looking forward to VERONICA MARS - especially when Joss Whedon does a full page review in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY talking about how great the show is. That’s enough for me, thanks! :)

Arrested Development is the release of the week for me - I’m not really sure if I can make it to Christmas to watch Season 2 again so I think that I may rush out and get it today.
Yes - Veronica Mars was the best new show of last season. Don’t think that I’ll be getting the DVD set though.

If I thought I could afford it, I might pick up the Tour 6-disc set. I find cycling to be quite interesting, but not $90 worth of interesting.

I’ve just been reminded that I also considered BATTLESTAR: GALACTICA for my Christmas week viewing marathon. Hmmm, thankfully I have a couple of months before I need to make a decision.

Augie - if time is an issue, it may be good to know that VM was your standard 22 x 1 hour (42~44 minutes w/o commercials) episode season while the BSG set is the mini (was that 3 or 4 hours?) + 13 x 1hour episodes for the season.

They’ve released Hondo, and it’s not 3-D? Where’s the point in that?

I’m thinking about picking up Veronica Mars this afternoon when I get outta work-is it worth the price of admission? Anybody?
