* The rumor mill is flying that a second season of ROCKSTAR: INXS would be ROCKSTAR: VAN HALEN.
* A classic quote from Douglas Adams: “I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.”
* David Hahn makes a few excellent points about the complaints against expensive movie experiences.
* TV Update for the weekend: The PBA returns to ESPN this Sunday afternoon. It’s starting to feel like Fall again.
* Meanwhile, the PBA is staging a special event to air on Christmas Day called The Final Frame. It’s a little convoluted, but it promises an all star cast of bowlers fighting for exemption.
* Broadband via hot air balloons/airships.
* Coming up on Sunday: Photos of last week’s flooding here in Northern NJ.

Got an email a while back from someone active on a Douglas Adams newsgroup saying that they were researching the “deadlines” quote, and as far as they’d been able to determine I seemed to be responsible for it escaping into the wild. I heard him say it as a reading/signing at UMichigan and added it to my .sig file, which seems to have been the earliest public distribution of it other than from Adams’ mouth.

A new season of RockStar with Van Halen…very interesting…

Update: Van Halen is denying the rumor in the strongest possible terms. MTV News is apologizing for the story. Back to rumor mongering about Queen, it looks like.

Van Halen doesn’t need a new lead singer, it needs to dry out Eddie and his ego.

Queen! No, I hope that someone will not let that happen. They were one of the great bands of all time and no lead singer will EVER be able to replace Freddie. I would pay money to see that they wouldn’t do Queen on that show. (Which I think is an abomination, btw)
