Sunday link dump

* Cut an inch, save $22 million. That’s the plan for The New York Times.

* The very definition of the word irony. Dog bites man isn’t news. Dog bites man who passed law against owners of dogs who bite men is.

* Lexus is introducing a new hybrid car, with a V8 engine included. Personally, I think that might be more power than you really need in a car, but what do I know? I’m not a Lexus consumer. (Thanks, Dana, for the linkage.)

* Ford is reporting a large quarterly loss. If they just would have given me 3.9% on a hybrid SUV, I could have helped them boost sales. By one. I guess all those employee discounts come at a cost in the end.

The NYT wasn’t using the same size paper as the tabloids? How odd. Of course they should have changed that.

I think more of us are looking forward to this week’s bigger cost-saving measure, when they fire Judith Miller.
