Water, water everywhere
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the video from last weekend of The Today Show reporter sitting in a canoe in Wayne, NJ. She’s trying to visually explain the problem with flooding in certain sections of Northern New Jersey after a week of heavy rain. The illusion is ruined as she paddles across the screen while two men walk past in front of her through the same water. The rain waters only came up to their ankles or so. Oops.
Last Sunday, I was in Wayne, NJ, heading over to the movie theater by the Willowbrook Mall. I needed to take a detour to get there because there was a current running down Willowbrook Blvd. in front of the theater. Thankfully, I had my camera with me and was able to take some pictures of the road and the parking lot behind the theater. I thought they came out well. Nothing nearly on the scale of Katrina or anything, mind you, but of local interest.

It’s photos like that that make you think about all those lost and lonely shopping trolleys out there.

Forget the trolleys, I always wonder about the lone sneakers on the side of the highway. Where’s the other sneaker? Where’s the owner? What are they doing on the shoulder of the interstate?

I thought the lone sneaker had something to do with a hitman…oh yeah, that video w/the idiot paddling is hilarious.
