Tuesday Link Dump - Special Music Edition

* Nellie McKay’s second album has been pushed back to December 27th, from its original October 17th release date.

* ROCKSTAR INXS fans: iTunes now offers Jordis Unga’s rendition of “The Man Who Sold The World” and Marty Casey’s “Trees” as singles, in addition to INXS/J.D. Fortune’s “Pretty Vegas”.

* While I’m linking to iTunes, I hope you’ve had the chance to hear O.A.R.’s “Stories of a Stranger” by now. Great disc, and one I hope to eventually write up a review of here.

* And the “Fountains of Wayne Hotline” song I linked to here not long ago is now also a single on iTunes. Funny stuff, even for FoW fans like myself.

* Don’t miss the legendary Christopher Walken dance in the Fatboy Slim video for “Weapon of Choice,” either. It’s the most downloaded music video on iTunes as I write this up.

* Michael Butler’s Rock and Roll Geek Show is an old school podcasting favorite. He recently interviewed Idol’s Constantine Maroulis, who had some interesting things to say. For starters, the planned AI Christmas special ain’t happening.

The tone of the writeup of the podcast is a little defensive, I think. Constantine is right — AI is just a “silly TV show.” Some people get too wrapped up in such things. . .

Thanks for turning me on to Nellie. I can’t say she’s on any of my top lists, but I’ve been enjoying the heck out of her first release. You kept hyping it so much that I finally gave it a listen. Damn good stuff, thar, pardner!

Thanks to DJ Michael Butler for setting the record straight on Constantine’s interview and I finally was able to catch the link to hear it for myself!! That was categorically cool of Michael…

That DJ went in there loaded for bear, trying to get Con to talk shit about Scott and Anthony. :)
