    The answer to your question is the same as for why most salespeople are more attractive than the average person, or why spokespeople are good looking. Good looks sell, period.

    Good looks may not necessarily make you, personally, spend $200K on an abode, but a headshot on a placard may be enough to get someone’s subconcious to make a mental note of the number when househunting. Getting people to listen is a salesperson’s first goal. If a headshot generates three phone calls a month, it’s worth it.
