More Nintendo Linkage
Welcome back to Nintendo Thursday.
* The Revolution’s real name is the Nintendo Wii. I’m not making that up. It’s the first insanely stupid move Nintendo has made with this new system thus far. They should have stuck with “Revolution.” I don’t plan on changing from calling it “Revolution” for a long time yet. (Thanks for the link, Rob.)
Also, we learn/are reminded that there will be no CD tray. They’re looking at multiple colors for the box. It will play all GameCube games. It will be DVD-capable with an attachment. Wi Fi access is built in. And expandable memory.
* Does the Revolution’s controller have force feedback?
* Konami is talking about their first Revolution-designed game, ELEBITS.
* Is the Revolution going to be released in September? That seems to be the rumor.
* In case you missed it yesterday, as it was a late edition to the last Nintendo link dump: Live Super Mario Bros. reenactment!
* Madden Football for the Revolution — not a direct port. It will take advantage of the controllers.

You know, at first, the name struck me as stupid, but I have to say it is starting to grow on me…just a little bit…

The name is just as stupid as when they revealed “The Wind Waker” for the last GameCube Zelda. WII will get embedded in our heads and soon we won’t think it’s a stupid name anymore.
Michelle Wie would be a great spokesperson for the system. Get it? Wii? Wie? HAR HAR HAR…
Tough crowd……..

It’s not an offensive name, but it is a pale substitute for “Revolution.”

Man, I remember how much everyone hated Wind Waker as a name. But after playing the game, no one cared anymore. I am sure the same thing will happen with the Wii
