Hell’s Kitchen Finale
Aug 14
The second season of HELL’S KITCHEN ends tonight. If you haven’t been watching the series this summer, you missed some of the greatest turnarounds and twists in a reality show in a while. The past two weeks have featured some great meltdowns, backstabbings, acts of long overdue vengeances, and duplicity I’ve ever see on reality TV. What Virginia did to Sarah last week ought to be immortalized in a Hall of Fame somewhere for reality TV. Sarah got her long overdue comeuppance in most dramatic fashion. And K-Grease wins Hall of Shame points for speaking his mind to Chef Ramsey after being ousted. Accusing the chef of having a crush on Virginia? Excellent TV!
Tonight’s finale comes down to Heather versus Virginia. It should be a no-brainer as to who will win their own restaurant. Simply put, Heather has the “mad cooking skillz,” while Virginia has the “mad game-playing skillz.” Heather has experience, capacity, and skills. Virginia has done just enough to keep herself out of trouble, all the while sucking up to Chef Ramsey and listening to what he has to say in their valuable one-on-one time. She’s just not very good at cooking on the line. Heather has her moments of being a little too catty, but she can cook rings around Virginia. No wonder she’s so happy at being in the finale — she’s up against one of the weakest competitors on the show.

I think Heather can *work* rings around Virginia, but Virginia has won about half the cooking challenges, while Heather hasn’t even won one. If it comes down to who makes better food, Virginia’s got this one cold. She can always hire people to do the actual kitchen work.

I’ve been a fan of Heather’s since the beginning, but I would not be surprised if Virginia wins…

Heather will easily win tonight. She’s pretty much the only one who looked like she can run a restaurant on her own. This year’s crop of chefs was well…not as good as last year’s and I think we saw that in Ramsey because he was waaaaaaaaaaaaay angrier than he was last year. At the end, I wonder if there will be some kind of twist like last year when he asked the winner to go with him overseas to train instead of taking control of the restaurant…not that it was such a big twist or anything.
And yes, Augie, that elimination from two weeks ago……..Freakin classic. Every week they say “….the most shocking elimination yet” and that one they actually meant it.

Virginia can kinda cook ok… and running a restaurant is more about running people and she seems to be very capable of that…
