Animaniacs quickly back to DVD

Animaniacs – Time to go Wakko (again) – Volume 2 News!

. . .they’ve scheduled volume two for release on December 5. The 5 disc set will include another 25 episodes of the series, along with some zany bonus material (which should include some material shot at Comic Con). The set will sell for $44.98. . .

Wow, that’s quick! And I’m happy! One of these days, I’ll post some of the pictures of the Animaniacs crew that I took in San Diego. I got some great video of the panel, too, but I have a feeling you’ll see that on the DVD, so there’s no need for bad YouTube Flash-encoded video just yet.

I hope that the quality of this Animaniacs release is better than Vol. 1. I haven’t searched it on the Web yet, but the quality is not so great on the first release. When I was watching, I noticed that when the characters moved around there are visible lines on them and it gets really annoying.

Sad to think that a 1990s show is getting better treatment than the Looney Tunes classics that inspired it…

Not saying that Animaniacs or Pinky & the Brain are bad shows, but let’s face it, they pale next to the best Looney Tunes from the late 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s.
