Let me spend your money this week
Best Buy wants our money this week, and I think I might be more than happy to give it to them. This depends, of course, on them actually having any of their sale items in stock. That’s a big if most of the time.
In any case, if you’re looking to catch up on your TV-on-DVD viewing, Best Buy has the following season sets on sale for $19.99 each:
- Charmed 1 – 5
- Curb Your Enthusiasm 1 – 2
- Dawson’s Creek 1 – 6
- Entourage 1
- Gilmore Girls 4 – 5
- King of Queens 1 – 4 (hey, they can’t all be good)
- MacGyver 1 – 6
- News Radio 1 – 3
- nip/tuck 1 – 2
- The O.C. 1 – 2
- Rescue Me 1 – 2
- Seinfeld 1 – 6
- South Park 1 – 3
- Veronica Mars 1
I know I’ll be looking for VERONICA MARS this week, although there’s a lot more there that’s tempting.

Augie, you gotta grab Vernoica Mars at that price. It’s slim on the extras but it’s really good writing.

Yeah, VM is a must-buy — IF they have any left in stock. I think I’m heading over there at lunchtime today. We’ll see. These sales are notorious for being slim pickings.
And now I wait patiently for the eager chants of “RESCUE ME! RESCUE ME!” Where are you, Arune?
Or will the ENTOURAGE contingent show up first?
I already have CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM 1 and 2, so don’t bother there. I like the show, but I am working through those boxes very very slowly.

I stopped at BB on my way to work this morning and picked up Veronica Mars (the only copy I could find on the shelf) and Curb Season 1. I already have Curb Season 2 as well as Rescue Me seasons 1 and 2 and Entourage – all fantastic series if you haven’t seen them.

I picked up VERONICA MARS today. Good stuff! The odd thing — there were shelf markers for MacGYVER and WILL AND GRACE (on sale for $15.99 a season this week) and CHARMED, but none in front of VERONICA MARS and RESCUE ME. It seems like the biggest values are being hidden. If you didn’t read the circular, you’d never know the prices were lowered.
Bonus: I had a $5 rewards point coupon, so it only cost me $16 in the end, after tax.

I’m tempted to get the NEWS RADIO sets.

Dang, Seinfeld and News Radio. Posts like these make me poor.
Augie, be sure to let us know what you think of Veronica Mars after you’ve watched it.

Thanks for the heads up Augie. I’d love to get the Seinfeld Seasons 4~6, but I figure if I haven’t even taken the shrink wrap off of seasons 1~3, then I should probably hold off on purchasing the later seasons.
Both Entourage and Newsradio are tempting, but I’m not sure how many times I’ll watch them so it may be easier to just get them from Netflix when I’m in the mood.

Another great TV show, especially if you like A LOT of cursing, is DEADWOOD. It’s not included in the sale, though.

I would love to get Veronica Mars. I already saw Season 1 on DVD when I took it out of the library, but what with Arrested Development Season 3 and Tick vs. Season 1, it’s going to be really hard ponying up another 20 for Veronica even at such a good deal.

My wife is a big Charmed fan and currently only has the first season. Trying to convince her to just go ahead and buy the other 4 seasons while they are on sale!

Augie, we talked before and we’re both of the mind that few TV shows are ones you “Gotta See!” There’s more important things in life for sure.
That said, RESCUE ME is a brilliant show and ENTOURAGE really kicks into high gear with season 2. But I know how busy you are and how hectic life can be, so just keep watching the SHIELD and 24, and we’ll be good. ;)
