Soon - I try to keep Pipeline business and Various and Sundry business separated, but I know that the majority of my readership here comes here from there. (Does that many any sense?) So I'm torn.

Stephen - You're right about designers, but I get the feeling that most of the entries would come from non-designer types. Still, I've been tinkering with the CSS files on the side and would like to update the look of the site, even if only minorly. . . You've all given me something to think about.

I wouldn't be concerned with hurting a designer. If they've been in the field long enough to feel comfortable with entering a contest then they certainly should have developed a tough enough skin to handle rejection.

Any designer who can't take the criticism or rejection of having their ideas shot down needs to find another field.

I've had more concepts that I thought were the best award-winning designs shot down than I've ever had accepted. You just gotta roll with the punches and keep that idea in the back of your head and hope you can use it later.

You could always offload some of the comic comps you get that you never intend to read. Or a link mention on the Pipeline.

And in the case of not using the winner's logo, that's what the fine print is there for, right?

If only (A) I had some prize and (b) enough people would enter to give me a worthy choice. I don't want to have to pick one of the two that were entered, and then hurt the winner by never using it. =(

Well, there is a variety of fonts in that logo. Hrmmm... I should have given them better guidelines, I guess. Or, I should just do it myself. If only I had those skills...
