The V&S DVD Podcast
I’m looking at my website stats this morning and I see something interesting:
There are no less than a half dozen episodes of the Various and Sundry DVD Podcast that are being downloaded about 200 times apiece this month. To me, the podcast was always disposable — it’s meant to be listened to the week it comes out. That’s about it. After that, there’s very little use for it. It’s not even worth archiving for historical purposes. I don’t get it.
But someone is listening. About 200 - to a podcast that died a couple of months ago.
Should I bring it back? Maybe it’s worth doing a trial run of four weeks or so. Since DVD listings are available far in advance, I could even record them all in one shot and release them weekly from there.
No promises, but let me know what you think.
In other podcasting news, I’m doing another interview with a pro this evening for next week’s Pipeline Podcast. And no, I’m not naming names yet, but I’ll try to put out an excerpt over the weekend on that feed.

Wouldn’t be a bad idea, but I think adding a review or two of recent dvd’s may be helpful (including the movies themselves). Delivering criticism in a humorous way seems to be your forte…

Yes, but that presumes an ability and time opportunity to actually WATCH any DVDs. I have to watch HEROES first off the TiVo before I can justify movies. ::sigh::

Nah, just review on what the packaging looks like and how exciting the box copy reads.
Hey, I’ve seen reviews seemingly based on LESS. :)
And yes, Augie, watch HEROES. I started watching my recordings of it last week, got hooked and now love it. Forego 45 minutes of sleep each night to watch it until you get caught up.
The only problem will be what happens when HEROES and 24 go head-to-head next January. (And I already know I’m going to be on a cruise when 24 premieres, so I’m going to have a lot of TV to catch up that weekend….)

I’m already dreading 24’s premiere in one sense — That’s four hours of MUST WATCH TV in two nights. ::gulp::

I had seen only a handful of episodes of 24 until the two-night premiere of Day 5. That got me hooked.
Did you see the new sneak peek trailer of Day 6, or are you avoiding spoilers on that?

I’m avoiding it right now. Eventually, I’ll give in, though. I know I will. I’m so weak.

I’m weak and watched the Day 6 trailer last night. January can’t come soon enough now!

BRING IT BACK!
BRING IT BACK!
BRING IT BACK!
if anything for the random rants about pop culture

Now, Ron, tell me how you really feel.
I’ve almost talked myself into this, but time is a definite problem. We’ll see.

If you have to choose between doing the DVD Podcast or watching HEROES, watch HEROES. ;)

Hope that you bring back the podcast. Always good stuff!
