Juan - Yeah, a sentence dropped out of my comment there entirely. I did start talking about the first movie before mentioning De Palma. I don't have a clue what happened to that line. Weird. Thanks for pointing it out, so I can explain myself. =)

Augie, I know you know this, but M:I3 is not a Brian De Palma film. It's a J.J. Abrams film. De Palma directed the first M:I picture.

Tyler - Glad to hear it. Maybe I'll make a note of it on the front page then, just in case others are having similar problems.

Bronte - I thought that would pique your curiosity. Is "The Pirate Queen" the one you're going to see this month?

Paul - I've still never watched M:I3 just on general principle -- shoddy handling of the original team, and the dismissal of the whole team concept. On the other hand, it's a DePalma film. I need to see it. I'm so torn. I liked the second movie, though, so I would like to see the third.

The Making of Miss Saigon?? The only reason I can think of is that Boubil and Schonberg have a new musical coming out, "THe Pirate Queen." Yes, I already have tickets. ;)

But you'd think they'd focus more on Les Mis or something. Hm.

That Samurai Jack dvd is worth the money. Sure the pilot is presented as its separate parts in the season 1 set, but here we have a commentary, a documentary, and surround sound for the pilot instead of just stereo.
Nothing for me this week, ... except for maybe M:I3. You see M:I3 is the first of the Mission Impossible movies to actually adapt what the show was about. Here, for the first time, we see in the TEAM in action several times, all of them last till the end of the movie. And while the plot does focus on Cruise's character, this time he's not a James Bond wanna be (like he was in M:I2). This is, in my opinion, the best Mission Impossible movie so far (and the first one they have gotten right).
For next week, TRANSFORMERS BABY! I'm also excited about the news of Sony Music rereleasing the show to dvd. The Rhino season 1 set had many many issues that I would like to see rectified. For the other seasons I might just hold off. Here's hoping that SM will also rerelease G.I. Joe to dvd (since Rhino didn't get the chance to finish the series on the last bunch of releases).

Tyler -- Crap! If this one isn't working for you anymore:

http://www.variousandsundry.com/?feed=rss2

Try:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/VariousAndSundry

Let me know if that fixes it for you. I'm having a tough time testing them out myself right now, because Firefox 2.0 redirects both to the Google Feed reader that I have all RSS feeds defaulted to.

I'd hate to lose anyone over this. I redirected the first feed over to the second one a couple or three weeks ago. Don't worry -- I have no plans to disappear anytime soon.
