Tuesday Wii Link Dump

- The new SSX game for the Wii looks very– blue. Screenshots at the link. This is one I’ll likely pick up for the Wii, if the control system isn’t too awkward. I love the last couple of these for the GameCube.
- Mod your Wiimote to control an RC car.

- I can honestly say now that for the first time in my life, I own a copy of Super Mario Bros. It came out through the Wii VC on Christmas Day. My original NES didn’t come with it. I had Duck Hunt and that robot game. I needed to borrow SMB from my next door neighbor after he was done with it. Ah, bliss.
- Here are the directions to get to the Negative One level on Super Mario Bros.
- Swiitspot gives you quick access to lots of good websites through your Wii browser.
- Finally! Here are plans to setting up your Wii to play at a local movie theater. At least, the wireless sensor bar plans. . .
- One for the cat people: WiiKitty.com
- Play Duck Hunt on your Wii today — through the web browser.
- Rumors of Wii Sports 2 being in development are mistaken. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen — just that it’s not in the works at the moment.

… whoa. You can actually get to the end of World -1? That’s new to me. I’ll have to try that out next time I fire up my NES. Or if I can find my GBA version of SMB.
And I feel your pain, Augie. My grandparents got my brother and I the Duck Hunt/Gyromite NES pack. I don’t think we used R.O.B. much past the first week… if even that long. I went and bought SMB separately about 6 months later.

Hmmm. After reading more, the ability to leave World -1 looks like it could be a hoax. I’m now skeptical. Still, I’ll probably go join World -1 next time I play.

Thank goodness Christmas arrived and we could finally break out the Wii. Man, it is fun. Wii Sports is great to play with the kids. My wife even played and I don’t think she’s ever held a video game controller in her life! I wasn’t too impressed with Monkeyball so far, though. The kids loved Rayman, but are way more interested in playing Wii Sports at this point.
I’m sure everyone’s seen the story about Madden ‘07 syncing up with the Weather Channel to give you real-time weather while you’re playing. I played a game last night and it was raining outside and in the game. I’m not sure if it was coincidence or not. I would have never even noticed I don’t think if I hadn’t been “tipped off”. I’ll be keeping an eye on that just out of curiosity.
The kids are going to bed as I type this. It’s time to break out Zelda and see what it’s all about now…
