OK, one last MacWorld thing
We’re two days away from the Stevenote and all the highly-anticipated announcements, releases, and surprises Mac fans wait a year for. Rumors continue to fly about, the latest of which seems to be about a Google deal with Apple. But I don’t want to talk about that. Two things came to mind this week:
First, I chuckled at the latest CompUSA circular in the Sunday papers today. It had a blip for iWork 06. Given that iWork ‘07 is almost a lock for release on Tuesday, the timing seemed kind of funny to me.
And, secondly, there’s been one Apple story that people have forgotten recently. And it’s my Out Of Left Field prediction for Steve Jobs’ “One Last Thing.” What if he brought out Ringo Starr? Rumors of Apple and the Beatle’s reconciliation have been flying for months now. Wouldn’t it be cool to announce the Beatles catalog now being available on iTunes at the end, perhaps with an appearance by one of the members? Maybe Ringo brings his band with him. Maybe there’s even an iTunes update to go with this. Maybe there’s a special Beatles iPod announced with it.
It’s crazy, but it’s the only prediction I haven’t seen yet.

I hope you’re right.
The Beatles being available on iTunes is much more powerful as something to be known for than the actual implementation. However, the cachet is huge.

Trotting out a former Beatle for the “One Last Thing” bit from Steve Jobs is a really, really, really good guess Augie. Although I’ve already got every Beatles release on CD, I’d sure like to see the band make a triumphant entry into the digital world at this week’s conference.

Speaking of Mac, did you see the CES announcement for TiVoToGo Support for Mac?

Josh - I did. I’d be more impressed if it didn’t come with an $80-$90 price tag. I’ll pass.
