Cisco may not have iPhone trademark. Interesting analysis, including last month’s desperate attempt to create an iPhone by Cisco.- Cisco and Apple were negotiating until 8 p.m. the night before the keynote.
- Cisco claims Apple used dirty tricks.
- Someone snapped a pic of Steve Jobs’ keynote notes.
- Cingular is already fielding the calls for the iPhone.
- And the first Apple TVs ship before month’s end. Yay!
- Update: Engadget does 10 million page views on the announcement day.

I still don’t like the “Apple TV” name. It makes it sound like a television unit instead of a peripheral. “iTV” was a better name IMO.

That is the one problem with the “Apple TV” name — it does block off one obvious branding mechanism should Apple ever decide to release a TV. At the rate and in the direction they’re going, that’s one rumor likely to come true. Knowing Apple, though, they’ll get around it by building the Apple TV device INTO the TV, a la the iMac. There are TVs out at CES, supposedly, that include Wi-Fi support built in. So why not an Apple TV inside a TV? Sounds cool to me.
