A few days ago, a co-worker told me he thinks the judges -- seeing the massive success Jennifer Hudson is having with DREAMGIRLS -- purposely kept out good white contestants this year in an effort to finally have a REALLY successful black winner. (Sales-wise, Ruben Studdard and Fantasia Barrino are nowhere near Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and -- it's only a matter of time -- Chris Daughtry.) I hate to say it, but I think my co-worker has a point. How else to explain all the good white contestants who were excluded in favor of mediocrities like Sundance Head and Antonella Barba? Sanjaya might be tough to knock out. Keep in mind, he’s probably got the entirety of India voting for him.
