Jeopardy! makes more history

Jeopardy! game show setOrlando Sentinel - “Jeopardy!” teases you to watch Friday’s show by Hal Boedeker

“This Friday, March 16th, 2007 … and for the first time in 23 years, ‘Jeopardy!’ history will be made.”

That’s all we know.  Honestly, that’s all I want to know.  I’ve already set the TiVo up to record the show.  If you know what happened, please don’t tell me.  I’m just putting this up there so you don’t miss it in case you’re interested.

Has there ever been a three way tie?  Someone run an entire board?  Only one person make it to Final Jeopardy!?  None?  I’m not guessing here; just curious.

At first I thought it was that Alex did video clues himself. I wasn’t sure if he’d ever done that before.

What was it? I missed it! Was it what Andrew said?

    I missed it too . . .

Andrew - I don’t know how often he’s done those before, but that wasn’t it.

Will - It was a three way tie for first place.. All three final contestants got the Final Jeopardy! answer right. The two guys tied for 2nd at the time bet it all. The guy in the lead bet enough to tie them.

Interesting thought. Maybe he was just being generous and figured having Jeopardy! give away $16,000 x 3 would be fun. Maybe he thought the two opponents were weak enough where he could kick their butts on Monday again, so he might as well keep them on. We won’t know until he does an interview somewhere.

Back in the day where you had to retire after five victories, the winner would often bet out to tie the 2nd place contestant, but nobody’s ever tied two others for no discernable reason.

And FINAL JEOPARDY! was kinda easy, too, even though the category didn’t seem obvious at first blush.
