Jeff -- the impact of both those shows is HIGHLY overrated. But I have another story blogged about that coming up on Monday, I think it is. Stay tuned. . .

Josh -- Eh, I think Ryan just got Phil's girly last name stuck in his head. I think the judges were purposefully nice to Sanjaya this week to stave off the people who vote to save contestants. The judges provided those people no worries about their favorite -- lulling them into a false sense of complacency.

On the other hand, it would be interesting to see Sanjaya win, just for the massive changes we'd see the producers put into place next season to ensure it never happens again.

That said, I think this is the week coming up where Sanjaya might surprise us all and actually loosen up on stage and sing well. Call me crazy.

Isn't Howard Stern and that website that asks everyone to vote for the WORST promoting Sanjaya this year? I'd like to think that it's helping him stay in the competition. That guy could sing a nursery rhyme and still stay in it. All he has to do is dress or do something off-the-wall.

I had a feeling Chris would be the one to leave. I really liked the guy, but he just couldn't get it done on stage. I am really curious how far Sanjaya will really go before the judges just totally rip him a new one. And will America eventually turn on him as their favorites get the boot?

My favorite part to go along with Simon's comment about Haley being forgettable. Did you notice Ryan saying at one point, "Who will join Phil and Stacey in the bottom three?" when Phil and Haley were there? I guess Ryan has already forgotten her.

Augie,

I have to give you credit. I was way off, yes I got two of three in the bottom three right (if you give me credit for my half guess of Hayley), but it doesn't count for much if the person I picked to leave didn't even make the bottom three.

I still feel like you are flip-flopping about Jordin (is that even a word?) but you are right, you have given her credit in spots.

Most importantly, congrats on the upcoming nuptuals and I'll be back next week.

Robbo - The thing is, Simon could have been talking to either of them. Yes, Chris was definitely "Curly," but Haley's extensions were wavy enough to qualify her, I think.

Juan - As much as I love the show, I tend to agree with you. It would go down in the hall of fame for spectacular television history. And the Sanjaya bandwagon would grow. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings dip noticeably after Sanjaya is eliminated. He's the car wreck we all hate and love.

Next week, I hope Sanjaya rocks out on a heavy-metal classic, drives the little girls wild, and lives to sing yet another week. And I hope he goes on to win the season, teaching the judges to pick better contestants. (They messed up this season from the get-go.)

"Bye bye, Curly"

So cruel...

I would rather have seen Phil go, but this was inevitable too.
