- Top 100 Ruby on Rails web sites. Some big names there, including Penny Arcade, Twitter, Odeo, vodpod, and Gravatar.
- Firefox 3 has integrated the Places code. “Places” is the new name for the database-driven bookmarking and history system in Firefox that was pulled out of Firefox 2 for Firefox 3. The early alphas now will include the first version of it.
- Microsoft’s new Milan tabletop computer gives you multi-touch point interaction. At $10,000 a pop, they don’t expect them to enter homes for a few years yet.
- Even geekier alert: Slide shows on scaling web applications. Fascinating stuff, but only if you’re a MySQL or Ruby or PHP junkie. . .
- Major League Baseball is going after the Slingbox, saying it’s an illegal device because it allows you to rebroadcast their games. Sadly, a dumb judge will likely eventually side with the MLB, et. al.
- 100 Words Every High School Graduate Should Know. I doubt any of them do, though. There isn’t a word on that list that I haven’t heard before, but I couldn’t give you a definition for all of them off the top of my head right now. Some of them came straight off the SAT study guide list, I imagine.
- The New York Times crossword puzzle generates a lot of Google searches.
