Mac Home Theater

The HDTV has a plug in the back for “PC input.” It just dawned on me that I have some HD podcast content on my Macbook laptop. And with the glory of Front Row, it should be easy to pop it up on screen with the remote.

Does that work with the Mac? Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it just as easy as picking up a wire to connect the two?  What do I need?

Assuming things haven’t changed too much since my G4 powerbook, you should be able to hook up the computer with the appropriate cable, and the computer will just recognize the tv as a second monitor.

I don’t have experience doing this with HDTV, but I do it all the time with an s-video cable and an audio cable that splits from a headphone jack to RCA plugs. (We kept up with the whole second season of Lost that way.)

The PC Input should accept a standard VGA cable. There should be an RCA jack for audio input as well. You’ll need to hook that as well if you want the sound to come from you tv/receiver.
