Move over, Nip/Tuck’s Dr. Troy – there’s a new playboy on the TV scene. And his name is Will Kirby.Having first made his mark on reality television on two seasons of CBS’ Big Brother, Kirby, a licensed cosmetic dermatologist based in Beverly Hills, is merging his love for TV with his passion for medicine on the new season of the E! series Dr. 90210, premiering Monday, July 30 at 10 p.m. Here, Kirby tells Us what to expect this season.

About three Sundays ago (or four or five) I heard an interview on NPR with an English professor at FSU whose also an author. It was a nice little interview about his writings, his classroom experiences, and his life in general.
Then, at the 3/4 mark the interview took a very, for me, unexpected turn when the interviewer started talking about reality television. It turns out that this man’s son is Dr Will. His younger son is a reality tv fanatic and he came up with the idea of entering Will on a show; the younger son, a college student, figured his odds of being chosen to participate were slim-to-nil because college students apply all the time. However, he correctly assumed that no reality show worth its salt would be able to refuse an application from a doctor. To further enhance Will’s chances, the younger brother concocted this entire psuedo-fake personality for Will, and after Will was chosen, the younger brother conceived of the perfect way for Will to act to win the prize. It all worked to perfection. Will split the money with his younger brother (don’t know if it was 50/50) then housed him while he pursued his graduate degree.
I don’t know if you already knew all this, but it was all very interesting to me.
