Big Brother 8 – Open Thread

Here’s your spot to talk about the latest developments on BIG BROTHER.
Whoa, nelly. This week’s eviction was great fun. We haven’t seen someone that surprised in a long awhile.
And what’s with Dick calling out Carol like that? I missed the joke.

I don’t even remember who Carol is and I’m not even surprised by this week’s outcome.
My question is why is the Chen-bot only telling certain evicted house mates about Eric? The house mates are making mistakes left and right.
This season is okay, but it definitely lacks a ‘Dr. Will’ type character. America’s Player is the only interesting thing about this show for me.

I have not enjoyed this season as much. My biggest issue is that I don’t like anyone in this house. In the past, I have had someone or a group to cheer on. I think that the America’s player is not a strong twist compared to ones in the past. The best part is knowing that Eric will have to target his allies.

Answer to Ezekiel’s question – the Chenbot did NOT mention Eric being “America’s Player” because everyone from Dustin on, will be a part of the jury ( in the sequester house )>
What I’d like to know – is whether or not Eric can REFUSE a “mission” from CBS & the American public. It seems to me that some of these “missions” could possibly work against him and his gameplay. Definitely the “vote Dustin out” one – changed his game completely, though in my eyes – it was something that forced him to realize that in the long run, that may be a better move.

I was under the impression that everyone that got voted out was sent to some place as to not to spoil the outcome of the show. And with this crowd, you tell one of ‘em, you tell ‘em all.
I just assumed that CBS cut Eric a check for being America’s Player. I don’t know if he can refuse a mission, but I’m betting he can drag his feet about it doing something he doesn’t want to do.
Still one of his missions almost got him thrown out of the house.

Apparently from what I read online, Eric can NOT refuse a “mission” – at the very least he has to attempt it. He apparently DOES have to vote the way the audience requests him to.
One thing that irks me, is how Julie does not even give him the chance to acknowledge casting the vote, she just assumes since he “has to”.. that he will. Even if he “has to” – he should at least go through the process of “casting” it.
A very important question is .. what if Eric decided to tell America to “suck his balls” – when the “mission” wasn’t something he intended to do ? Could CBS rightly kick him out at that point ?
