I woke up this morning and realized that this is a special day.
Today, September 17th, is the Five Year Anniversary of the blog at VariousAndSundry.com. So momentous, it is, that it needed both extra capitalization and bold-faced fonting!
It all started with the excitement of a DVD release of Looney Tunes animated shorts.
It’s been updated on a daily basis for the last couple of years, at least. I can’t remember the last time I missed a day. Before that, it was near-daily. It’s definitely filled its function in life to let me talk about all the non-comics things I want to get off my chest.
For the comics stuff, there’s still Pipeline Commentary and Review, now past its tenth anniversary.
I feel old again.

Wow, we’ve sure got a lot of cool stuff on dvd since then. The only significant releases for the D.C. Animated Universe at the time were a single collection of the first five episodes of Batman TAS (the larger volumes hadn’t even been announced yet), a couple single dvds of Justice League, and the movies.

Thanks, one and all! It’s weird to think that this blog has been part of daily life for so long. Time doesn’t slow down, dangit!
Paul – Heck, when I started this blog, we were still waiting for STAR WARS on DVD, weren’t we? INDIANA JONES hadn’t come out yet. And TV shows on DVD weren’t always in season boxed sets. Also, not every DVD was anamorphically compressed. Strange days, those were.
Phil – hold on to that job! Congrats on beating the swing of the joblessness axe! ;-)
