New DVD Releases, 23 Oct 2007

There’s a good chance that some of these DVDs will be released this week. Maybe even some more. Check your local Best Buy for details.

  • Meet the Robinsons (2007)

The kids’ll love it, I hear.

  • Saw III: Unrated Director’s Cut (2006)

You know how we have Unnecessary Special Edition DVDs? Here’s an Unnecessary Sequel to an Unnecessary Movie.

  • Veronica Mars: Season Three (6-disc set)

It’s The Must See Pick of the Week. I’ve been waiting for this one since I finished watching season two last fall, I believe. Whoo!

Next week: Looney Tunes, Scrubs, and Spider-Man 3! You can just hear Santa’s Sleigh warming up, can’t you?

Don’t get too excited about Veronica Mars Season 3. It’s not as good as Season 2 (and nowhere near as good as Season 1). I’m not saying don’t watch it, but go in with realistic expectations. It was a disappointing and very uneven season.

  2. Nick Says:

I wasn’t thrilled with the season as it aired, but man, I’d take that quality of a season for a season 4 over not watching it at all. 2 1/2 mintues of Kristen Bell in Heroes ain’t enough.

Don’t forget the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles comes out this week. It’s expensive, but that’s what I’m buying today.

  3. Paul Says:

I’ll probably rent Meet the Robinsons at some point as I’ve heard it really is a lot of fun (as opposed to Chicken Little which wasn’t.).
As for Indiana Jones … that falls under the category of “I’d really like to … but there is that Complete Stargate Collection …”

Now next week, Spidey and Looney Tunes are must-buys. True that Spider-man 3 is a bit of a stepdown from the previous films, but that doesn’t prevent it from being all manner of awesome.

Thanks for the reminder, Nick! I’ve posted a follow-up story. YOUNG INDY deserves at least that much.

Stockwell - I know what you say is true, but I miss it too much. Hopefully, having taken nearly a year since watching it last, I won’t have my expectations raised too high.

Paul - I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t see Spider-Man 3 in the theaters. Hopefully, my home theater will take care of it for me. =)

Augie, like I said, don’t not watch it. Bad VM is better than no VM.
