On the other hand, the one bit that maybe provides some hope is that while Barr's been doing much more mainstream stuff recently, he was a significant writer on Parker Lewis Can't Lose. On the other hand, I really can't see the quirkiness of the original getting upper level approval, and as seen with The Office, the tightrope is basing something on the original but still giving it its own identity.
