Black Friday is but a day away
Happy Thanksgiving, first of all, to my American readers.
This holiday season, please support your local blogger. It doesn’t have to be me. Odds are, there are other blogs you surf past in your daily rounds on the web. I would just ask you to reward one or two of those blogger whose work you enjoy all year round. If you’re doing some holiday shopping through Amazon, odds are very good that one of the blogs you read has an Amazon banner on it somewhere. Go ahead and click through on one of those before you start putting together your order. It won’t cost you a penny, but it’ll mean a nice little reward for your blogger of choice. Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Augie.
Thanks for the reminder about Amazon - I’m going to be ordering my gifts here shortly and will remember to start here at V&S.

Damn it, in all the Black Friday excitement - I forgot to click through V&S - next time I promise !
This years HOT bargain seemed to be the Microsoft Zune. Until today, it wasn’t really on my radar at all, but the $ 79 - $ 99 price tag - was very tempting. Unfortunately - despite my ALL POWERFUL Canadian dollars in hand - they weren’t selling outside the USA for the most part. In retrospect, I’m probably better off because I haven’t heard too much positive about the Zune at all - and my Creative Zen Microphoto is actually doing the job quite well for me thank you very much. The promised Apple specials weren’t that special at all, and any ipod reductions were almost laugheable.
I did manage to snag up 5 seasons of SIX FEET UNDER - one of my favorite shows - for $ 19.99 a set ( as compared to $ 50+/set ). If I bought the sets normally, it’d cost me $ 250+ Canadian, and that’s before sales tax. Because I buy it through a US retailer, I save approximately another $ 50. I didn’t even take the exchange into consideration. All in all, I saved about $ 200 doing this.
