MacWorld: The SteveNote Is On!
January 15th, 2008 -- by Augie De Blieck Jr.
I won’t be able to update this site until later tonight, but in the meantime, I’ll leave this thread open for you to all comment on whatever it is Steve Jobs is announcing Right This Very Minute.
For your amusement, I now provide a link to my on-the-fly coverage of the iPhone announcement last January. Ah, memories. . .
I didn’t hear any serious Beatles rumors this year, unlike last. . .

Interesting stuff. That MacBook Air is *THIN*. Holy cow. I might be interested in that simply for ease of portability. I mean, that’s something I could take on a vacation where suitcase space is at a premium.
Apple TV 2… eh, not a product I foresee myself getting.
iTunes rentals — an interesting concept. I’m not a huge rental person, myself, but I could see some instances where I might want to rent a movie. Like plane flights — I’ve got several to wade through at the end of the month (BNL Ships and Dip Cruise 3. :D) and I might want to have a movie to watch on the way back.
Don’t have an iPhone or iPod Touch, so what they added is meaningless. :)
And as for Time Capsule — if I had a Mac, I’d probably buy this in a heartbeat.

Time Capsule is an easy purchase for me, no question. I was planning to buy a Macbook anyway with a external hard drive, and this is a gimme.

The MacBook Air is nice…very nice. However, my MacBook is less than 2 years old so I think it is going to be a while before I purchase a new one.

The Apple TV is the product for me. I’m with you, Phil, in that I skipped over the iPhone/iPod Touch part. I’d like one or the other someday, though. . .
Joseph - I feel like an idiot for buying an external drive last year. Granted, it was half the price of Time Capsule, but I’m lazy — I’d rather pay extra to have Apple handle all that NAS stuff for me.
Trip - It’s a beautiful laptop, but utterly useless to me, sadly.
My full writeup hits first thing tomorrow morning.
