Week Ending Link Dump

Better late than never to post today. . .

  • Anyone download Google Chrome yet?  I’m curious, but I’m a devoted Mac user without Parallels running.  Looks cool. The web browser is due for a paradigm shift, as much as I love Firefox and all its wonderful plug-ins.

  1. I use a Mac at home but at work I recently downloaded Chrome. Seems very fast.

Separating each tab into its own process was very smart. But the best thing about it is the comic book user’s guide. Technical and enjoyable at the same time.

I like Firefox, but this has the potential to be better. Of course, Firefox could always steal their ideas.

  2. Hmm…I thought the new Microsoft ad was pretty clever and funny. But then I have been a Windows guy for a long time both at home and for my job. Definitely going to try out Chrome and see how it works.

  3. I’ve been using Chrome for a few days now – seems a little faster on certain apps, but nothing mind-blowing. The independent tabs are nice, as having one tab slow everything down was one of the most annoying things about Safari, but no RSS/atom support (yet, I hope) is a real problem.

  4. I’ve been using Chrome since it seems way faster in starting and running than FF3. It’s by no means perfect, but it’s still in beta, and really, really nice.

I didn’t like the Bill Gates/Seinfeld ad, either, but then, the parts of Seinfeld I like are the ones NOT involving Jerry.
