Today’s Historical Note: Jersey

The island of Jersey — from which New Jersey got its name — looks like a splendid place to visit. It’s an island in the middle of the channel between England and France. It has its own currency, lots of farms, and includes “electronic commerce” as one if its major industries. I could sit in a room and program there happily. And, of course, the great writer, Augustus Asplet Le Gros, is a native of Jersey.
